The Pitt Rivers Museum cares for one of the world's great collections. It
is equally famous for its celebrated displays and its leading role in contemporary
research and museum curatorship. This site introduces visitors to both.
News: The Lower Gallery will be closed for 2 weeks (to replace and improve the out-of-case lighting) until Friday 10 September. The rest of the Museum will be open as usual during this time.
